GeoWav ("we", "our", or "the app") is a location-based Android application that provides location-based alerts and automation, live location sharing, emergency tracking, and session history visualization.

2.1Location Data

GeoWav collects location data to provide its core functionalities:

Real-time live location sharing
Background monitoring for location sharing and real-time updates
Emergency tracking
Session history recording

Location data may be collected:

In foreground (when app is open)
In background (for location event detection and live sharing purposes)

Users are informed via a persistent notification when location tracking or background activity is active.

Location data is collected only with user consent and can be controlled through device settings.

Location access is required for the app's primary features and will not function correctly without it.

2.2Account Information

We may collect:

User ID
Display name
Profile information (if authenticated via Firebase)

This is used only to enable secure location sharing between authorized users.

2.3Session & Activity Data

The app stores:

Location-based entry and exit events
Live session start and end timestamps
Start and end addresses (via reverse geocoding)
Route path coordinates
List of users included in each session

Session history is visible only to users who were part of that session.

2.4Messaging Data (WhatsApp Cloud API)

When location-based events occur, the app may send automated WhatsApp messages via the WhatsApp Cloud API to configured recipients.

The app does not read personal WhatsApp messages or access private chats.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information strictly to:

Provide real-time location sharing
Detect location entry and exit events
Trigger automated alerts
Display session history and timeline previews
Ensure privacy-controlled sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Background Location Usage

GeoWav uses background location access to:

Monitor location-based events even when the app is not open
Continue live sharing sessions
Detect emergency-related tracking events

Background location access is required for the app's core functionality and is used only for these purposes.

Data Storage & Security

Data is stored securely using Firebase Realtime Database
Data transmission is encrypted in transit
Access to session history is restricted to authorized users
Session visibility is limited to participants included in the session

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data.

Subscriptions and Payments

GeoWav offers optional subscription plans (such as Premium and Pro) that provide additional features and enhanced functionality.

All payments are processed securely through Google Play. We do not collect or store any payment or financial information.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the end of the billing period. Users can manage or cancel their subscriptions at any time through their Google Play account settings.

Data Retention

Location and session history data is retained to provide timeline and historical functionality unless deleted by the user.

Users may request deletion of their data at any time by contacting us.

User Control

Users can:

Start or stop live location sharing at any time
Enable or disable emergency mode
Remove saved locations
Request account data deletion

Children's Privacy

GeoWav is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
